Rilke CMS News http://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/ Rilke CMS NewsRilke CMS 0.95 beta has been releasedhttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/ The eighth release of Rilke CMS, version 0.95 beta has been made available at SourceForge. Rilke CMS provides easy content management for non-geeks. It allows you to easily publish a weblog, update a public website, or collaborate on a private Intranet site. Rilke CMS is different from other open source content management systems in that it is easy to learn and use, and does not have a blocky look-and-feel. It relies on five built-in CSS layouts/themes which can be changed with a single click. Rilke CMS is currently available in English and German. A live demo of Rilke CMS 0.95 beta is available at: http://www.rilkecms.com/demo/ Rilke CMS 0.95 beta is a big feature release. It also fixes many long standing bugs. New Features in 0.95 beta include: * A redesigned default theme * A built in permissions / user-level system (writer, editor, administrator) * A complete user interface for adminstering users (only available to administrators) * Customizable Links (via a styled drop down menu) * Customizable Blogroll + Integrated Mini RSS Feed Aggregator * A customizable contact info block This release also fixes many bugs, including the (remaining) bugs that occured with register globals turned off in PHP. The total number of major changes (including feature additions and bug fixes) is 20. For a detailed list of changes, please review the Changelog. You can download version 0.95 beta here: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=84255 Your feedback is welcome. Any help in translating Rilke CMS to new languages is also welcome! For detailed general, technical and setup information, please review the readme. Try out Rilke CMS 0.95 before it is releasedhttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=73 I have just installed a preview of the upcoming Rilke CMS 0.95 at the demo site. This new version features: A redesigned default themeA built in permissions / user-level system (writer, editor, administrator) A complete user interface for adminstering users (only available to administrators) Customizable Links (via a drop down menu)Customizable Blogroll + Integrated RSS Feed AggregatorA customizable content block Minor revisions to all the themes Many bug fixesTo login as a Writer (you can only edit your own posts, and you have other restrictions as well), login with username: writer password: writer To login as an Editor (you can edit other posts, and can perform many functions which a Writer cannot), login with: username: editor password: editor Next Release: 0.95 (beta)http://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=72 I have been working hard on the next release, which involves significant new feature additions and structural changes, including a fine-grained permissions/ user level system, customizable links, a redesigned default theme, an editable content block for publicly visible contact information and more. The usual tempo of a-release-a-week has been broken, because these new features require more time to be fully developed and tested. Additionally, in order to honor my goal of providing each release with built-in language support for English and German (for the administration screen), the user interface for the new features has to be translated as well, before a new release can be made. I will post more news on this site about 0.95 when it is available. If you have any feature requests, please feel free to use the feedback/comment form below. RSS Feeds for Rilke CMS newshttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=71In the redesign of the Rilke CMS site, I forgot to add the links to the RSS feeds on the news page. For your reference, the RSS feeds for this news page are available in two versions: Full Posts, RSS 2.0 FeedFull Posts, RSS 0.91 Feed Rilke CMS mirrored at Goodie Domain Servicehttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=70I was happy to serendipitously discover that Rilke CMS has been mirrored by the Goodie Domain Service (GDS), an online repository of open source software hosted by the Vienna University of Technology. If you need another mirror for Rilke CMS, you can find all the versions to date here: http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/sf/r/rilkecms/ Default theme gets facelift in upcoming version 0.92http://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=69 The default theme for Rilke CMS will get a facelift in the upcoming version 0.92. The current version of the default theme can appear a bit harsh, with its use of Maroon and Black. The redesigned default theme has more of a sublime feel to it. Here's a preview: Another post containing the new features / bug fixes in version 0.92 will follow soon. New Theme at Demo Sitehttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=68 The Demo site has a slick new theme, Green and Bare. Check it out: New Feature: Customizable Navigation Linkshttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=67 Some visitors to the demo site may notice a completely new feature: Customizable Navigation Links. If you look at the top of the main page (in any theme), you will see a new drop-down box. This drop down box's contents are completely customizable: they can contain absolute links, links to categories or links to posts. And managing links is really easy: Rilke CMS 0.90 has been releasedhttp://www.rilkecms.com/rilkecms/?id=66 Rilke CMS 0.90 has been released. The seventh release of Rilke CMS, version 0.90 has been made available at SourceForge. A live demo of Rilke CMS 0.90 is available. Rilke CMS 0.90 is a feature, internationalization, bug-fix and code-cleanup release. A lot of structural changes have been made in this version in order to accomodate a *one-click language change* system for the administration screen. Currently there is built-in language support for English and German. This release has Quick Post support, meaning you can add an entry from Mozilla's Sidebar, Mozilla Firebird's Web Panel, and Opera's Web Panel. Additionally, the group of bugs which plagued the image attachment process seem to have been finally fixed. Major code cleanup of the administration screen which began in 0.85 has progressed nicely. This is the first release which has been tested extensively with register globals turned off in PHP, and it seems to work. For a detailed list of changes, please review the Changelog and this more descriptive article at the Rilke CMS News site. You can download version 0.90 here: Source Forge File Release Page or here: Our own rilkecms.com release area Your feedback is welcome. Any help in translating Rilke CMS to new languages is also welcome! For detailed general, technical and setup information, please review the readme file.
